Refunds & Returns

Your 14-day right of withdrawal
As a consumer buying online in Sweden, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within fourteen days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason. This is your ångerrätt under the Distance Contracts Act, Distansavtalslagen (2005:59), chapter 2, section 10. To use it, send us a clear statement by email at theteam@insectscreenssweden.com with your order number before the period ends.
Any clear statement will do. You may use the standard withdrawal form published by Konsumentverket, but you do not have to.
What you get back
We refund the price you paid, including the original delivery charge, using the same payment method you used. Chapter 2, section 14 of the Distance Contracts Act requires that refund within fourteen days of your withdrawal notice; we may wait until the goods have reached us, or until you show they have been sent, whichever comes first. In practice we process refunds as soon as the goods arrive back, usually within 24 to 48 hours of receipt.
You pay the direct cost of returning the goods. Unrolling a screen and offering it up to the window is fine. Cutting it to size is not, because it cannot then be resold: if the value of the goods has been reduced by more handling than was needed to examine them, we may deduct that reduction from the refund.
Cancelling before we ship
Orders can be cancelled at no cost at any time before they ship. Most orders are dispatched within 24 to 48 hours of payment clearing, so if you need to change or cancel, email us as soon as you can after ordering.
Screens made to your measurements
If we make a screen to the measurements you give us, for example through our quote service, it is made to your own specification. Chapter 2, section 11, point 3 of the Distance Contracts Act excludes goods made to a consumer's own specifications from the withdrawal right, so that right does not apply once we have started making it. We say this on the quote form too, so you know before you order. This is a different thing from a standard size that you cut down yourself at home: standard sizes keep the full withdrawal right until you cut them.
If anything is wrong with a made-to-measure item, just contact us. Faulty or incorrect goods are always put right, and the exemption above does not touch your statutory rights over defects.
If something is faulty
If your order arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, contact us and we will put it right at no cost to you. We cover return costs for faulty items. Your statutory rights apply under the Consumer Sales Act, Konsumentköplagen (2022:260): you may complain about a fault for three years from receiving the goods, which is longer than in most of the EU, and a fault that shows itself within two years is presumed to have existed at delivery unless we show otherwise. Complain within a reasonable time of noticing the fault; within two months always counts as reasonable. You may then choose between repair and replacement, and if we cannot do either within a reasonable time, a price reduction or your money back.
How to start a return
Email theteam@insectscreenssweden.com with your order number and tell us whether you are withdrawing or reporting a fault. We reply with the return address and the next step. Please do not send anything back before you hear from us, so your parcel does not go astray.
Consumer dispute resolution
If a dispute arises we would much rather settle it with you directly, so please contact us first. If we cannot resolve it, you can take the dispute to ARN, Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (the National Board for Consumer Disputes) at arn.se, free of charge. Konsumentverket publishes consumer guidance at konsumentverket.se, and your municipality's consumer adviser (konsumentvägledning) can help you locally.
